Iman Shumpert

Iman Shumpert is an American basketball player who currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA. Born and raised in Illinois, he was drafted in his final year of college by the ‘New York Knicks.’ In 2012, Iman finished at the 5th position in the ‘NBA Rookie of the Year’ line-up. In 2015, he was traded to the ‘Cleveland Cavaliers.’ There, too, he repeated his above-average performance and in early 2018, he was acquired by the ‘Sacramento Kings,’ following a three-team trade.

Outside of basketball, Shumpert has explored his creative side recording rap music. In 2012, he released the song "Knicks Anthem" and the mixtape Th3 #Post90s. In 2013, he released the song "Dear Kendrick" in response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse in the song “Control” by Big Sean. The music video for his single “Chiraq” garnered media attention over the eccentric visuals.
